Technical SEO Audit Checklist for Mumbai Websites

A comprehensive technical SEO checklist covering crawlability, indexability, structured data, and performance for Mumbai-based websites.

What a Technical SEO Audit Covers

A proper technical SEO audit examines crawlability, indexability, structured data, performance, and security — the foundation that determines whether Google can find, render, and rank your pages.

Crawlability Checklist

  • Robots.txt: No disallow blocks on important pages. Test in Google's robots.txt tester.
  • XML Sitemap: Submit to Search Console. Include only canonical, indexable pages — no pagination params or filter URLs.
  • Internal linking depth: Every important page should be within 3 clicks of the homepage.
  • Crawl budget: For large Mumbai e-commerce sites (10k+ pages), prioritise crawl budget on product and category pages.

Indexability Checklist

  • Noindex tags: Audit for accidental noindex on important pages
  • Canonical tags: Every page needs a self-referencing canonical or a clear alternate
  • Duplicate content: Check for URL parameter duplication (sort, filter, page variants)

Performance & Security

  • Core Web Vitals: Pass LCP < 2.5s, INP < 200ms, CLS < 0.1
  • HTTPS: No mixed content warnings
  • Mobile: Test with Google's Mobile-Friendly Test
